The Gaston Rural Community Water District will receive Sealed Bids for the Asbestos Cement Waterline Replacement Project until 10:00 AM on February 10, 2022 at the Gaston Rural Community Water District offices at 1133 Mack Street, Gaston, SC 29053, at which time and place all Bids will be publicly opened and read aloud.

Base Bid: Construction of approximately 1,105 linear feet of 10-inch water main, 5,028 linear feet of 8-inch water main, 625 linear feet of 6-inch water main, bore and jack 20-inch steel casing with carrier pipe, connections to existing water mains, installation of new service lines to existing water meters, abandonment of existing water lines and valves, installation of gate valves and fire hydrant assemblies, restrained joint fittings and air release valves, removal and replacement of asphalt roadway, asphalt driveways, and concrete sidewalks, and all other necessary appurtenances as specified and depicted in the Contract Documents for fire flow protection and to serve the existing residences along Mack Street and HWY 321.

Additive Alternate “A”: Construction of 13 linear feet of 10-inch water main, 2,189 linear feet of 8-inch water main, and 200 linear feet of 6-inch water main, connections to existing water mains, installation of new service lines to existing water meters, abandonment of existing water lines and valves, installation of gate valves and fire hydrant assemblies, restrained joint fittings and air release valves, removal and replacement of asphalt roadway, asphalt driveways, and concrete sidewalks, and all other necessary appurtenances as specified and depicted in the Contract Documents for fire flow protection, as well as, to serve the existing residences along North Carlisle Street, South Carlisle Street, and Oakey Springs Drive.

Additive Alternate “B”: Construction of 2,618 linear feet of 6-inch water main, open cut 12-inch steel casing with carrier pipe, connections to existing water mains, installation of new service lines to existing water meters, abandonment of existing water lines and valves, installation of gate valves and fire hydrant assemblies, restrained joint fittings and air release valves, removal and replacement of asphalt roadway and asphalt driveways, and all other necessary appurtenances as specified and depicted in the Contract Documents for fire flow protection, as well as, to serve the existing residences along Magnice Avenue and Fiddlers Lane.
